Grain Loading Facility Safety Upgrade

Client: Viterra
Location: South Australia

SAGE Automation was appointed as Principal Contractor by Viterra to deliver a turnkey safety upgrade to a grain inverter. The project met specifications set for electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical safety modifications.

The scope of works included:

  • Working in hazardous areas
  • Safety and Risk assessments
  • Subcontractor Management
  • Cad Drafting
  • Certified safety system, PLC system and Hazardous Area design Mechanical build, control panel manufacture/wiring, PLC and HMI programming, networking and integration
  • Factory Acceptance Testing
  • Site installation, testing and commissioning
  • Provision of final as built documentation, user manuals and hazardous area inspection dossier

Electrical Upgrade of Grain Storage and Handling Facility

Client: Viterra
Location: 4 sites across South Australia

Viterra engaged SAGE Automation to perform the electrical upgrade of their storage and handling facilities at Gladstone, Tailem Bend, Crystal Brook and Port Lincoln.

The scope of works included:

  • Site electrical investigation
  • Functional design specification
  • Control system design in accordance with hazardous area requirements
  • AutoCAD drawing set development
  • Safety Risk assessments, SMX and SRS
  • Manufacture of electrical panels and Main Control Cabinet
  • Factory Acceptance Testing
  • Supply and installation of field equipment, cabling and mains supply
  • Site installation, testing and commissioning
  • Provision of final as built documentation

Grain Unloading System

Client: AGT Foods Australia
Location: Narrabri, New South Wales


AGT Foods Australia engaged SAGE Automation to design and construct an electrical control system for the new Container Loading System for the Narrabri site in regional New South Wales.

The scope of works included:

  • Functional Specification and design
  • CAD drawings of electrical control
    system
  • PLC Programming
  • HMI Programming
  • Main Control Cabinet and Operator
  • Control Station manufacture
  • Factory Acceptance Testing
  • Supply of field devices Site installation, testing and commissioning
