Client Challenge 

A mining client needed a Lead Portfolio Manager for a newly formed role with a remit to establish a project delivery methodology that could be rolled out nationwide. In the first instance, the candidate would be required to work in a hybrid role, working from home and in regional NSW. They had been looking for some months to hire someone on a permanent basis without finding the quality of candidate they needed.

How we solved it

Knowing that we had successfully sourced quality resources in the past, the Superintendent, Projects approached our Talent Manager to see if we could assist them. With our market knowledge and national reach, we were able to proactively approach potential candidates with significant change experience. Within two weeks, we presented two candidates, one of which was hired on a two-year contract and started a few weeks later. The other is being considered for another role.
